Antonov Airlines was established in 1989 to market the Antonov An-124 Ruslan commercially. Aircraft
The An-124 is the core of the airline's commercial fleet. Antonov Airlines also operated the unique six-engine An-225 Mriya, developed from the Soviet Buran spacecraft programme. Operations after 2022
Hostomel near Kyiv was the airline's principal base before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. After the battle for the airport, Antonov relocated its surviving commercial operation to Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany.
